Rauriser Hochalmbahnen provide a leisurely, wonderful ski area in the Alps in the Hohe Tauern National Park in beautiful Raurisertal. Of the around 32 kilometres of pistes, 15 km are easy, 12.5 km are medium and 5 kilometres are difficult. There is a practice lift in the valley for beginners. The blue 6-seater cable car takes you from the valley to around 1780m altitude.
The Gipfelbahn, an 8-seater cable car, takes you up to 2175m altitude. Having reached the top you can see Dachstein, the Großglockner, the Wilder Kaiser, Steinernes Meer and even further. The Waldalmbahn, a 10-seater cable car in the Kreuzboden area, takes you up to 1838 m altitude and you also get to enjoy extensive views across the Tauern.
Beginners learn how to ski on the practice area in the valley which has a magic carpet, cable lift and baby lift. After the ski course, the ski schools offer various activities, including a trip on the excursion train or Skidoo, a leisurely hike by torchlight, horse-drawn carriage ride and much more.
Once a week infants can head out on a trip in the "Ziachschlitten" with the little mascot "Tilly". Meanwhile in the 'Nuggetpark' fun park, boxes, rails, kickers and jumps await every ability level. The "Family slope" in the area at the Hochalmbahn mountain station provide adventure over 700 metres, with banked turns, waves, kickers and a "snail".
Rauriser Hochalmbahnen provide discounted tickets for children, youths, families and senior citizens aged 60+, for those who have a disabled persons ID card and groups of 20 or more.
One special "sweetener" is the 'Echt.Fair.Ticket'. Purchase your ticket online in advance and save up to 35%. The online voucher can then be exchanged at the cash desk for the relevant ski ticket.
